NC2SD Scenic Overlook

After spending orientation on the scenic Outer Banks, the trip will head west through Charlotte, Winston Salem, and Ashville, completing several build days before hitting the hills of Tennessee. After a day off in Graceland, riders will traverse the plains of Oklahoma and wheat fields of Kansas. 2012 will see Bike & Build complete an entire house with Pikes Peak Habitat in Colorado Springs, CO. The NC2SD route will be the first to work on the project, laying the foundation of the house before the South Carolina to Santa Cruz trip comes in a week later to finish the framing, roofing, and interior spaces. After enjoying the vistas of the southern Rockies, riders will continue west into the deserts of Arizona before concluding their trip in the San Diego sunshine.

A portion of the proceeds from this trip will go to benefit the Orange County Habitat for Humanity chapter in Orange County, North Carolina. They will use the money to fund student-run builds during the 2013-2014 school year. The remainder of the fundraising will be pooled into Bike & Build’s competitive grant program.
