Hello lovely people! My name is Sabrina Orr and I am a 25 year old that absolutely loves adventure! I am from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan and escaped the cold by going to Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida. I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. I love to travel, meet new people, taste different cultures, and bring love and peace everywhere my feet step. I am a marathon runner, certified yoga instructor, and avid explorer of all things beautiful. I love to sing and play my guitar, longboard, and hammock.

A couple of years ago, a very good friend of mine told me about Bike & Build and invited me to do it with her. Ever since she told me, I literally could not stop dreaming of doing it. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do it then, but I did get to follow her on her journey by keeping up with her on social media. That desire bubbled up again and I realized that if I don't do this now, when will I ever? I have learned that you can seriously do whatever you put your mind to, and my mind is so extremely set on biking across the beautiful USA.

I have always had a heart and desire to serve and love on people with a pure, unconditional love that stems from the Creator of the universe. This desire has continued to spark and thrive as I step more into my calling in life. My sole desire in life is to love irrevocably and help people by bringing restoration to their lives. I see the good in people's hearts and I call out the gold that is deeply set in their souls. A great passion of mine is to encourage and uplift people while cultivating new relationships. I am a dream enabler and an enhancer of ideas and thoughts that have risen to great minds. With all that being said, I want to continue to help people by building them a home.

We are aiming to raise awareness to communities all over the U.S. Many people are unaware of the national crisis that is among us. 10 million homes in the U.S. are inadequate and unsafe to live in and 6 million homes are overcrowded. In 2011, the U.S. Census Bureau reported that the number of households unable to afford rent or own a durable home consisted of 40 million in America! Affordable housing is considered 30% of someones income, many people who fall into this statistic have to work and maintain two jobs, paying 50% of their income towards housing, that is often times inadequate. This then interferes with the quality of life that can be detrimental to their own lives and the generations after them. Bike & Build helps break the cycle of poverty by stepping forth, tending and aiding to those who are in need of a place to call home. Bike & Build encourages the community to come together and helps people take responsibility for these national issues.

A home is a safe place, created for protection, vulnerability, love and graciousness. It is meant to be a safe haven for people, to reside in and know that they are loved and worthy. What an honor it will be to build affordable houses for people in need. For the last couple of years now, I have been telling people that I will bike across America someday. Well, I have finally made the commitment and have the drive and will-power to do so. What a beautiful story that will unfold; biking across the indescribable land that we live in, all while bringing awareness about affordable housing with an incredible team on one amazing journey.
